Interview with Mariam Faye( Fayer)

Miss Mariama Faye is a young Gambian model who lives in America. She attended Ndows Comprehensive School , Gambia Senior Secondary School and Marina International School.
After reading some many things about her on Facebook I decided to interview her one on one and get to know why did she choose modelling as a career. There u go.....

Lillian: Why did u choose modelling??
Fayer: It's a life long passion. I have always loved fashion from a very young age
Lillian: You where a journalist right so why the diversion??
Fayer: I started fashion before journalism. The media field just happened out of the blue nothing planned.
Lillian: What do you mean when you said "I started fashion before journalism"??
Fayer: I took part in a Miss Bakau competition before I started working at GRTS.
Lillian: Oh really what year was that and did you win??
Fayer: 2008 and yea I did won.
Lillian: What are the cons and pros you are facing as a model??
Fayer: People see you as a sexy symbol, some think models are dumb and have no other profession and it's a very racist industry.
It's fun and more of a passion, you travel and experience as well as meet lots of people and mostly it's a learning ground.
Lillian: If you had to go back in time will u still choose modelling as a profession??
Fayer: 100% I love it no regrets.
Lillian: What about your parents, do they approve of this profession you have chosen?
Fayer: Dad approves but mum don't but after all it's my life and it's me. So it's what I want.
Lillian: Do u you have a role model miss Faye??
Fayer: No I don't remember having one. I admire few people, respect few others but never really looked up to anyone.
Lillian: What are your future aspirations??
Fayer: Still deciding on my major. I would have said I want to represent Gambia but am not sure about that any more. So after modeling I might get into the medical field.
Lillian: Oh it seems like you love diverting huh, model, journalist later medicine so why medicine!?
Fayer: Not diverting but modeling is not a life long career. So a second profession is always good
Medicine because I'm good with customer care but don't like business so taking care of people might help.
Lillian: Have u made friends in the industry?
Fayer: Oh yea I have few friends.
Lillian: How do you feel when you wake up and read bad things about yourself on Facebook or any other social network??
Fayer: I just say 'ar it's Gambia' eat, go hang out at a reggae club or watch movies or go for my classes.
No pressure.
Lillian: Do you have an agent??

Fayer: Yea he is Scandinavian.
Lillian: I know it's not easy getting gigs so how do u manage??
Fayer: Before I was just the 'bitch' Gambians call me . I go to all castings I know of and talk to designers etc. Now my agent sends me stuff.
Lillian: Thank you very Miss Faye for the interview, it was great talking to you
Fayer: You are very welcome.

  14. Ok so i read this interview and to be honest i am impressed with Lilian. As for Fayer, girl you sure beautiful and have all it takes to be a famous model. Quit being ignorant. You seem to be full of yourself and insecure. No man is an Island, How can you say you looked up to no one.
Btw you are now a ¨celebrity¨, learn how to answewr questions with sense.
This whole part made me do the facepalm...

  15. I love your stuff but i think your nude artistic pictures are ment for your protofolio and castings and not for openly. You seem yo be very angry when pepole say negative things about your nude pictures. In life people will say all kinds if thing but you getting angry and writing on your statues on FB feel like people are winning over you instead of you winning over them. You have to control yourself, you are a beautiful woman.

  16. yama you are a very beautiful woman but u need to work on ur attitude and try to control ur emotions. criticisms are nt to pull u down but instead make u strong and focus. it make u distinguish btw what people say u are and what u really are. So pls be a little bit more professional and represent THE GAMBIA even thou sm say nasty things abt u but jus keep in mind that u ar an agent on assignment to market the smiling Coast of Africa The Gambia.
Always bear in mind that there are young models looking up to u and what ever u do will have an impact in their lives. Be focus and sure u will get there. GUD LUCK! in ur endeavor
